A proposal to Bangladeshi, Indian & Burmese government

LUBNA M CHOWDHURY

Neither I'm  a political person, nor  I've the desire to be one; but when I see, my home isn't what it used to be, when my mother no more smiles in the pictures she sends me, then I'm alarmed.

If a nation is made on a false belief, the guilt & the shame will be written on their faces when they dealing with the international world. By correcting some of the basic human rights like food, health, shelter, education & religious belief - without  life will come to a complete stop or a threat like BDR killings will happen again & again. There are also  natural disasters like flood, cyclone, and famine which we can’t do anything, we need  foreign power for that . Soon people will lose their morality &  will become a cheater, a thief, will create pressure in the society for money  & sex, soon they will  commit murder or will become a victim. Society will make them a monster , they will laugh at someone's misery, will get jealous on some one's pride, and will become greedy & inhumane on some one's wealth & beauty. People need normal life, right  society for their living , they can have  marriages, have children like our parents & grandparents had; it's  not a political setting to get what they want by force or money. We don't want some foreign country to govern us even religiously. People must  have the right to make money  & can have property & right to protect it. Also can go to foreign countries to earn money & can have dual citizenship. There should also the  freedom of press. Find out the traitor who maybe dressed like you , talk like you but may be leaking  country’s core information to the outside world.  A woman can maintain her dignity even she is living alone or walking down the street or buying something from the market. Learn to respect women. May be through any weak point of the country, some other country is getting richer & stronger. Crooked people will be looking for cheap success, guiding us wrongly. Search for the person with great visionary talent who can show us the right way.

1947 partition -non political violence in the Sylhet part .
In August, 1947, when, after three hundred years in India, the British finally left, the subcontinent was partitioned into two independent nation states: Hindu-majority India and Muslim-majority Pakistan. Immediately, there began one of the greatest migrations in human history, as millions of Muslims trekked to West and East Pakistan (the latter now known as Bangladesh)

The country where I came from is Bangladesh, fighting with India for many years on Farrakha dam which was built on the Ganges River on Indian side finally completed in 1974. India puts a barrage (11 miles) on the Ganges River which is a sub Himalayan river, flows from Nepal crossing India then BD (Bangladesh), finally ends in Bay of Bengal. By changing in the river flow in the planes of Bhagirathi & Hooghly river in the Indian states Uttar Pradesh & Bihar  & directing the natural course of the river to improve the navigability at the Calcutta port, violates international laws on the rivers.  which states that .....any construction for the diversion of water on any international river.....which cuts off water supply.... & so on . The Barrage affects during the dry seasons. India withdraws the water in huge quantity & in monsoon period it opens up the slits & BD gets over flooded. It was going unchecked at the border of south west part of BD. The Farrakka barrage is a disaster for BD, causing severe drought situation, fresh water scarcity, imbalance between the water demand & supply in the dry season  & is deteriorating day by day. Arsenic contamination of the ground water level affected the agriculture causing increased salinity in the water. Forestry, fisheries are  also  affected. Fertile agricultural land becoming a waste land. Environment ecosystem is ruined, it poses a threat to the water quality & public health. Frequent flooding caused reduction of agricultural products. In New Delhi a treaty was introduced on sharing the water during the dry season, rest of the year there will be sufficient water that India can operate the Farakka diversion without creating any problem for BD due to imbalance of men power & lack of cooperation, the treaty failed ...may be who is going to do the big job.

Nepal (often suppressed by India) - a land lock country, is a very important country in Farraka barrage; even though it has no international bounder with BD, the river Ganges originated in the mountains of Himalaya runs through India, crosses BD finally ends in the bay of Bangle.  Any  change in the international river like Ganges can't be made with out the participation of Nepal & BD. If the language ‘Bengla’ prevails in east & west Bengals-

I have one solution for Farrakka barrage & securing the border areas which includes country Burma also -BD is a country with 80% land for cultivation. People lives below poverty line which is unthinkable. BD is loosing manpower by sending men abroad to earn money. If BD government encourages people (in exchange) from far end of the globe like South America- Brazil, Australia, Africa, the countries which are similar to BD, based on cultivation, let them settle down  in BD, lets start with a small number of people. They can own  land, raise cattle, marry, pay tax to BD government like the tribal people in BD, have their own dialect, cultivate & sell products in the market. Far away aliens will be guarding the border area  as  border patrol in the western side as well as eastern side  ( Burmese side)  of the country.

I would recommend Mexicans  or  South America from  same tropic of cancer but those countries are dry & mountainous, some part is as poor as BD. People are hard working, good laborer as well as good cultivators. They are good as long they are not disturbed by outsiders.  The aliens if agrees to come to BD   &  do not disturb the social norm of the country or economy,  the changes will come after many years. But think in the positive way, it will have an enormous effect to our  next generation to come. Also  borders between Chittagong hill tracks & Burma;  Sylhet & Assam- some alien people needed  to guard the border area there as well. Now the question is, why would people from far away countries, consider coming to a 3rd world country like BD, India or Burma, what will they gain?  In my view, they are equally troubled state, facing same kind of economic crisis & hardship as we have gone through. To improve their financial condition, they might consider coming to settle as they will be equally benefited, as we are ; as we have different way of life style- our food, culture, climate, education is far different from theirs that might interest them too .

The Beautiful forest (Sunder bon) lies in the southern BD & part of west bengal India is the world’s  largest mangrove forest in the coastal areas  & freshwater swamps inland;  also known for its Bengal tigers, spotted deer , crocodiles, snakes, birds & fertile soil. The forest is formed by 3 large rivers , Ganges, Padma & Bhamaputra /Magna.

The ocean -we are bordered with Calcutta (India) from the west,   north-east which  is Assam(India) connected with Sylhet & in south-east, Chittagong is bordered  with Myanmar  ( former Burma). Fortunately southern part of BD has the bay of Bangle, which is the international port for sea way to travel for global importing & exporting product, port handles shipment in bulk cargo, automobile shipment, international trade for varieties of business, beach for tourism & recreation, sea way of transportation, cheap way for exporting a finished product abroad , importing raw materials , good means for recruiting large scale of  men power. Rohingya  refugees in BD - since 1992 about 32,000 Rohingya have been living in 2 UN camps scattered across south east BD 90% of whom are unregistered.

Deaths along the Bangladesh–India border occur many times a year as result of people attempting to illegally cross into India from Bangladesh, cross border firing and cattle smuggling. Bangladesh and India share a 2,545 mile border. To prevent smuggling and illegal migration from Bangladesh, the Indian Border Security Force exercises its controversial "Shoot-on-sight" policy. Under this policy, the BSF can shoot any person on site with or without cause. A large portion of the victims are cattle traders and farmers with land near the border. Regarding border killings, Brad Adams, Executive Director of the Asia Department of Human Right Watch state that, "Routinely shooting poor, unarmed villagers is not how the world's largest democracy should behave

Bangladesh is currently hosting hundreds of thousands of refugees who have been driven out of neighboring Myanmar; these refugees, many of them women and children, lack legal status in Bangladesh and are restricted from attending Bangladeshi schools or working. The Bangladeshi government is also trying to find ways to get rid of the refugee population — through forced repatriation to Myanmar or sending refugees to a remote island accessible only by boat. Local officials have sought to justify this by saying the refugees are destroying the local environment.

Sylhet -my  home land located in northern east part of BD, bordered with Assam- India known  for spiritual leaders like Shahjajal , Shaporan ,  who conquered Sylhet by defeating Hindu Raza; is  also largest gas producing district &  famous for tea plantation . Indians have allegedly occupied 32 kilometers of BD in Border areas of Beanie Bazar & Zakiganj upazilas of Sylhet district . Reported on Dec 29th 2010; reported by UNB  .Connect Find out  babies born twins , triplets, Quadruplets ...... & on, identify them, track them so that with their power they don’t harm the integrity of the country .

I don’t care whether Bangladesh is Muslim majority or Hindu/Christian based  country but if the problem get solved in this way  then what reward is waiting for me in future
